Happy Birthday, MONOLODGE!
I’ve had a fantastic summer working with this fabulous organization and am so happy I was able to attend for the two-year anniversary this August. As usual, we were graced by beautiful, funny, touching work. The always lovely Jessie McClaren performed a moving original piece that dealt with injustice, rape culture, and femininity. Such a relevant topic, and can always use a fresh perspective. We can’t wait to see the final product, Jessie! It was exciting to see all of our MONOLODGE vets come out and perform and support. Y’all really make the magic happen! It is so bomb how many of you there are. And I loved seeing the work of relative newbie Alecia Hill (who also donated a really delicious pair of chocolate cakes.) Go ‘head girl! MONOLODGE has built this beautiful family of artists and audience, of actors and enthusiasts, that I feel so blessed to be a part of. I’ve said it before, but I really will be getting up there one day to perform! But for now I’ll be there, in the audience soaking in the gorgeous, talented people around me. Cheers to your anniversary, MONOLODGE, and here’s to many more!
