ALEHIA RENEE



Alehia Renee is Stanislavski trained actor, and writer. She was previously seen on stage in the Kingsborough Community College production of "Blood Wedding". Alehia was also a scene partner for the 2016 Irene Ryan scholarship at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival where she performed scenes from "The Flick" by Annie Baker and "Our Lady Of 121st Street" by Stephen Adly Guirgis. Alehia was trained by Ryan McKinney and Paul Ricciardi. who helped mold, shape and push her forward to create her own one woman show. "The Woman With The Issue Of Blood" was recognized by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and she is nominated for the Irene Ryan scholarship for 2017 where she performed a scene from "An Octorroon" by Branden Jacobs-Jekenis and a monologue from "Blood Wedding" by Federico Garcia Lorca translated by Langston Hughes.

WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD

"The Woman With The Issue Of Blood" is a solo piece written and performed by Alehia Renee. It is about a woman and her two year journey to justice after her son was killed while he was trying to protect his mother from being raped.

The themes within this work are of a serious nature and Alehia's goal is raise awareness, further the dialogue and through her artistry, ultimately become a change agent for the challenges we face in our society.
